Moving Forward in the New Year

January 9, 2013 by Connie Leave a Comment

Well, we have entered a new year.  January is typically the month when we look at all the ways we can change and improve.  We make New Year’s resolutions in an attempt to start fresh.  Beginning a new year motivates us to create other “new” events in our life – relationships, hobbies, volunteer activities and even careers.  It makes us stop and look back at our past year, or even the past five years, and ask ourselves, “Is this where I want to be at this point in my life?”

Take time to reflect on your priorities and accomplishments, and if you haven’t achieved your own personal goals, now is the time to do something about it.

Your changes don’t need to be completed in the first month.   Some changes require long term planning.   If you’re not sure how to approach this, don’t be afraid to ask for help.  Seek feedback from your trusted friends or family members, ask for advice from a counsellor or get guidance from a career/life coach to help you identify what steps are required to get you on the right track to success.
